This project was born out of a reflection on the construction of femininity and its consequences for the life of women in occidental societies. The subjects of the drawings are women with deformities and lesions, inspired by photos of women, who had become the victims of domestic violence.

The menstrual blood represents the reduction of women to a purely biological being as well as the impossibility of liberation from this reductionist construction of the occidental female. In this context, the female body, colonized and made by men, becomes the justification for their submission and subordination.

A ideia desse trabalho nasceu da reflexão acerca da construção da feminilidade e as suas consequências para a vida da mulher nessa sociedade. Os desenhos mostram mulheres com deformações e ferimentos inspirados em fotos de mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica. O sangue menstrual representa a redução delas ao seu biológico e, assim a impossibilidade de libertação dentro da construção reducionista do ser feminino ocidental. O próprio corpo, colonizado e feito por homens, vira justificação da sua submissão e dominação.
